Test Post 2

BIG BLUE NATION, meet consensus TOP 5 prospect HARRISON BARNES from Aimes, Iowa. Barnes, rated as the top small forward by both Scout.com and the Rivals network, as well as the top overall prospect in Scout.com's 2010 rankings, is a must-see player who erupted onto the scene during the summer prior to his junior year.

At 6'6" and 190 pounds, Barnes is an athletic "freak of nature" with potential NBA all-star abilities and a high basketball IQ. However, at this stage in his high school career, his jumpshot supersedes his ability to penetrate. This is something upon which he will need to focus before entering the collegiate ranks. This past season, Barnes lead his team to an historic, undefeated season and Iowa's Class 4A state championship; the first Class 4A high school team in Iowa's history to finish with such an unblemished record. Barnes finished the season averaging 19.7 points and 8.8 rebounds per game, a slight improvement from his sophomore numbers of 17 and 8.

He isn't going to settle for mediocrity. When Billy Gillispie signed on as head coach of Kentucky, all I heard was that he was going to change the culture of UK basketball. Gillispie was a hardworker, was going to bring in the best talent out there, and that basketball is/was his life. The man never slept. Well, now that Coach John Calipari is our head coach........what do fans think about him?

Coach Calipari is bringing in the best of the best in terms of basketball talent. He is always on the go, making the rounds not only around the country, but eventually......China! He is selling UK just like........dare I say his name........Rick Pitino once did. It is apparent that this coach definitely lives and breathes basketball. So what is it that is driving our head coach?

He, like most successful people, are constantly challenging themselves to be better. However, how does one define success? Does Coach Cal consider himself successful currently? Well, I do. What drives him though? Is it the National Championship that has eluded him thus far? Is it the man down I-64 who coaches the other major university in the state? I for one do not think it's limited to one single aspect. I think for Coach Cal it is a multitude of factors.

Coach Calipari is driven to be successful because that is his nature. He isn't a miracle worker, and I am sure he will tell you that. However, he will give it his full effort, and he won't let Cat fans down. What you can always count on is his ability to never settle for complacency. He will never allow himself or his team to be mediocre. That is what the Big Blue Nation wants and needs. He will deliver because he cares, and that is his biggest strength.
